Prayer 10/16/19: A thanksgiving for rain

“From your lofty abode you water the mountains;
the earth is satisfied with the fruit of your work.
You cause the grass to grow for the cattle,
and plants for people to use,
to bring forth food from the earth,
and wine to gladden the human heart,
oil to make the face shine,
and bread to strengthen the human heart.” Psalm 104:13-15

Lord, we thank you for today’s rain that waters the ground, that brings forth food for your creatures. Grant us glad and grateful hearts for the simple goodness of your creation. Amen.

“Ever since the creation of the world his eternal power and divine nature, invisible though they are, have been understood and seen through the things he has made.” Romans 1:20
