“I saw one like a human being
coming with the clouds of heaven.
And he came to the Ancient One
and was presented before him.
To him was given dominion
and glory and kingship,
that all peoples, nations, and languages
should serve him.
His dominion is an everlasting dominion
that shall not pass away,
and his kingship is one
that shall never be destroyed.” Daniel 7:13-14
Almighty and Eternal God, we come before you in the name of your Son. He taught us to love as he loved us. He taught us to walk as he walked. Our King gave himself so that we might have life. Earthly kings shed the blood of others to save themselves. Our King shed his own blood to save others. We glorify you, Holy Father, for you have given what we can only receive: grace and life.
Gracious and Loving Father, we pray for those who are in need of guidance. Give wisdom and discernment. Guide those who call on you. Grant that the work we do today will bring good into a world in need. May we bring love where there is hatred, peace where there is strife, clarity where there is confusion, hope where there is despair. Lift up the humble and grant humility to the prideful, so that all may know that you are God.
Pour out your Holy Spirit upon us. May we reflect your light and love in this world, and may it bring honor and glory to You: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; One God for ever and ever. Amen.
Jesus said, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid” John 14:27.
