“Jesus answered them, ‘The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified. Very truly, I tell you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains just a single grain; but if it dies, it bears much fruit'” John 12:23
As the apostle Paul encouraged us to do, let us forget what lies behind and strain forward to what lies ahead (Phil. 3:13). Maybe we have kept up all we set out to do during our Lenten practice. Maybe we kept up some of it. Or, maybe, none of it. Regardless, Christ receives us by grace. Let us forget what lies behind and set our sight on the cross and see the love that was poured out for us. Let us set our sight on the resurrection and see the power of God’s love. For “God sent his only Son into the world so that we might live through him” (1 John 4:9b).
